<![CDATA[Handcrafted ginna ciraldo jewelry - Blog]]>Wed, 17 Feb 2016 02:09:18 -0800Weebly<![CDATA[February 05th, 2016]]>Fri, 05 Feb 2016 16:33:07 GMThttp://www.ginnaciraldojewelry.com/blog/february-05th-2016Finally a new site! I like to mull things over for a while...quite a while, apparently! In reality, I've been super busy with my real-life-pays-the-bills job and assorted other commitments. I was recently elected to the Penobscot Bay Regional Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, I'm President of our local business group...the list goes on.

One of my New Year's Resolutions (I think we've heard this song before :)) is to focus a little more on my jewelry biz. I'm narrowing my line down to about 12 types of pieces, and will be updating my site along the way. Stay tuned!

<![CDATA[August]]>Wed, 11 Aug 2010 16:46:23 GMThttp://www.ginnaciraldojewelry.com/blog/augustTime flies. Summer in Maine is brief and it will be over before you know it. I'm starting to think ahead to Fall projects, although I still get to create more "beachy" things for my favorite shop at Lincolnville Beach! If you're in town, be sure to check out Beach Inspirations! Regina has an incredible assortment of beautiful things...including some of my pieces (shameless self promotion!)

As the weather gets cooler, I do find myself spending less time outside and more time inside creating and marketing, etc. I recently read about a woman who described her hobby as "Beadist Meditation". I thought that was great...and it's so true. It's a very therapeutic and rewarding pastime or career.

Enjoy what's left of summer! Check back for new additions as the seasons change!]]>
<![CDATA[July...]]>Fri, 23 Jul 2010 22:34:14 GMThttp://www.ginnaciraldojewelry.com/blog/post-title-click-and-type-to-editOkay, okay...I have been slacking off on my Blog, but I'm going to make more of an effort to keep things up to date!
I recently attended my 30 year high school reunion (which was a blast!)...wore the proverbial "Little Black Dress" or LBD, and made this bracelet to go with it.

It was inspired not only by the LBD, but by the 4th of July...and sparklers! It even sounds like sparklers when you jiggle your wrist. This one is made with faceted crystal rounds, Swarovski faceted jet crystals, freshwater pearls, and silver lined glass tube beads. I have made a couple others that will turn up on this site and my Etsy shop soon!

<![CDATA[A new collection...]]>Sun, 25 Apr 2010 00:39:31 GMThttp://www.ginnaciraldojewelry.com/blog/a-new-collection

When I was young I spent a lot of time with my maternal grandparents...it was always an adventure! My "Nana", Mary Magdalene Kenny, was a high spirited full blooded Irish woman; her husband, my grandfather, was a mild mannered full blooded Northern Italian. I got my love of cooking and baking from my Nana (more on her later!), but when I wasn't in the kitchen with her, I was either at my grandfather's bookstore, rifling through boxes with him in their attic, or painting trees at night with a honey and beer concoction designed to attract moths. My grandfather, Aurelio Gatti, was an avid butterfly and moth collector, and even traveled to Trinidad and Tobago to add to his collection. I recently made a bracelet using freshwater button pearls. When it was finished and I was holding it in my hand, it reminded me of a caterpillar, which then reminded me of my grandfather and his beautiful butterflies. Such pleasant memories came flooding back that I decided to create my own collection in his honor...the Caterpillar Collection. I've added a couple of these bracelets to my Etsy.com Shop...take a look!

I just added this to my Etsy shop. I consider this necklace my "signature" piece. It's been a really popular item, and I've made it with slight variations. I've used pressed Czech glass beads, gemstones, and Swarovski crystals in place of the freshwater pearls. It's a versatile necklace that goes well with almost anything you're wearing.
